Class

  1        To the Employee in husbandry who has worked continuously or served the longest time either as weekly or yearly servant on the same farm or with the same employer and has during that time been distinguished for sobriety and regularity of conduct, a prize of £20.  In addition to the prize money the winner will receive a certificate and an inscribed Tankard.  The Tankard is presented by the HFAA in memory of the late Major L H Corke.

Classes 18 & 19 are open to Skewbald and Piebald horses/ponies only and are affiliated to the British Skewbald and Piebald Association and are qualifiers for THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF COLOUR, National Champion of Champions 2005. Tto be held at the College, Keyso, Beds.  All classes will be judged within the rules and criteria of the BSPA, copies of which can be obtained from them (01354 638123, fax 01354 638238).  All stallions 4 years and over MUST be graded and Licensed + Registered with the BSPA.  Owners/handlers/riders MUST be members of BSPA and Horses/Ponies registered with BSPA prior to the Show in order to qualify.   Competitors must produce their BSPA qualification card in the ring for the judge to sign otherwise qualification is invalid.

31        RIHS Skewbald/Piebald Ridden Pony not exceeding 153cms.

Open any type/sex, Rider any age Display required including gallop,

Classes 31 and 32 which are open to Skewbald and Piebald horses/ponies only are affiliated to the British Skewbald and Piebald Association and are qualifiers for the ROYAL INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW, Hickstead 2005. Classes will be judged under BSPA rules, copies of which can be obtained from them.  ALL horses must be registered with and owners and riders members of BSPA prior to the Show.  Rider age taken as at 1st January. All stallions MUST be graded and licensed by BSPA. No rider under 14 years may exhibit a stallion in any class.  Membership and Qualification cards MUST be carried in the ring by competitors and produced as required for inspection or signature.  Failure to do so will disqualify any competitor and their Qualification handed down to the next unqualified competitor.  The two highest placed unqualified standing 1-3 in each class will qualify.  Entry fees for Classes 31 and 32 will be subject to a RIHS entry levy of £6 and competitors are asked to add this to the standard entry fee.

33        Best Ladies Hunter, Mare or Gelding, to be ridden by a lady,

            either side saddle or astride.  PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP

            presented by the late N E Dixon Esq.   A Special rosette will be

            presented to the best horse ridden in a side saddle.                                            £11      £6        £4

All First and Second Prize winners in classes 26-30 and 33 must

compete in Class 34 otherwise their prizes will be withheld.

35        (Special) Champion Skewbald and Piebald.   

            PERPETUAL CHALLENGE TROPHY presented in memory of

            the late Dr Michael Newell by his daughter, Mrs Ailish Southgate.

            All 1st and 2nd prizewinners from Classes 18, 19, 31 and 32 qualify for this class.

52        BSPS WORKING HUNTER PONY.  Mare or Gelding 4 yro and

            over not exceeding 133cms (13hh).  Riders not to have attained

55        WORKING HUNTER PONY CHAMPIONSHIP

      1st and 2nd prizewinners from classes 52, 53 and 54 only. 

            PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP presented by Lady Aldous.

            The champion will qualify for the BSPS “David Manning” Champion of Champions       

PONIES ASSOCIATION ( UK ).  - the highest placed exhibit not already qualified

within the first three places in classes 52, 53 and 54 not already qualified and in possession

of a P(UK) Summer Competition Card will qualify for the "COLNE" WHP CHAMPIONSHIP

The 1st and 2nd prizewinners only from 44-47, 50, 52-54 and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizewinners from Class 49 will qualify for the 2005 BSPS Championship Show, provided the pony is registered in accordance with Rule 23 and ridden by a BSPS Member.

THE BSPS PA BUSINESS SYSTEMS CHALLENGE – Ponies qualify as follows:- Leading Rein, First Ridden, Nursery Stakes, Open Working Hunter Ponies and Open Show Hunter Ponies – the highest placed pony that has not qualified for the 2005 Horse of the Year Show, in the appropriate class, will qualify.  If the highest placed pony has already qualified for the “The PA Business Systems Challenge” the qualification will be awarded to the next eligible pony.  If after qualifying a pony qualifies for the Horse of the Year Show it will forfeit its qualification for the “The PA Business Systems Challenge”.

Cradle Stakes – the highest placed pony that has not already qualified for “The PA Business Systems Challenge” will qualify.

BSPS Premier League1st, 2nd and 3rd prizewinners in Classes 44-47 and 49, 50, 52-54 will qualify.

BSPS HARRY HALL BEST RIDER – the Best Rider in each of the following classes at all BSPS Affiliated Shows will be awarded a Best Rider Card and qualify for the final at the Summer Championships Show:-

Open Lead rein, Open First Ridden, Open 128cms, 138cms and 148cms.  Show Ponies, Open 122cms, 133cms, 143cms and 153cms. Show Hunter Ponies, Open Cradle and Nursery Stakes, Open 133cms, 143 and 153cms, Working Hunter Ponies, Open Intermediate S.R.T., S.H. and W.H. classes.

PONIES ( UK ) QUALIFICATION CARDS  This show is a qualifier for the Ponies (UK) 2005 Summer Championship Show, to be held on the 16th – 20th August 2005 at the East of England Showground, Peterborough .  To qualify Horses / Ponies MUST be registered with Ponies Association (UK) before qualification.  Competition cards will be issued free of charge from Ponies Association (UK) Office on completion of Registration of Horse/Pony.  Riders MUST become ‘A’ Members or Junior/Senior Riders Club Members within 7 days of qualification.

*BSPA QUALIFICATION CARDS will be issued to entrants qualifying as indicated in Class 53 & 54

 

           


SHOW JUMPING under B.S.J.A. Rules

(a)        Entries will be restricted to three per owner per class in all jumping competitions, the number

of entrants will be restricted to 40 per class.  Entries will be accepted in the order received and horses must be ready when called.

(b)        Entries in classes 56-57 are restricted to horses and ponies registered with the B.S.J.A. and

ridden by members in accordance with B.S.J.A. rule 79.

(c)        No member shall allow a stallion for which he/she is responsible as owner, lessee, authorized agent or rider to compete or be prepared to compete, in any show jumping competition without taking adequate precautions to ensure other members of the public are not put at risk or injury.

62        CHAMPIONSHIP.  Best Donkey from Classes 59, 60, and 61.

            CHALLENGE CUP presented by the late Miss G Morley.

The In Hand Champion Donkey at this show automatically qualifies for the relevant Championship at the DBS Annual Supreme Championship Show on 20th and 21st August 2005 at Rodbaston College , Stafford , provided it is owned by a fully paid up member of the DBS.  A Donkey may win more than one Championship at shows but will qualify only once for the DBS Supreme Championship Show.  Where the In Hand Champion Donkey has previously qualified, the Reserve Champion Donkey will be deemed the Qualifier.

63        *Pet Donkey.  No restriction on number of animals owned. 

            This class to be judged entirely on the suitability of the donkey

            as a family pet and not as a Handy Donkey.  Conformation

            shall not in any circumstances be taken into account.                              £10      £5        £4
